Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters, February 6

Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters, February 6
Community Presentation: Future of the Boundary Waters and our efforts to protect the Wilderness from sulfide-ore copper mining

Please join the campaign to Save the Boundary Waters to learn about the threat posed by sulfide-ore copper mining proposed on the Wilderness edge and what you can do to help. Get an update on recent announcements from federal agencies, including denial of Twin Metals mining leases and the environmental review to determine if the watershed of the Boundary Waters is the wrong place for this type of mining. We are in the midst of a critical public comment period and need your help to educate and mobilize more people to stand up for this nationally-beloved Wilderness. The event will conclude with a workshop on how to write an effective public comment to the US Forest Service.

There is no charge. The event starts with an open house at 6:00 pm with light refreshments and a chance to review maps, materials and meet Campaign leaders.
