Confirmation at St. Luke is not about doctrines and dogmas or telling you what to believe. It is a program preparing youth for church membership, if they choose, which helps them think through the basic teachings of the church, what they believe, and how to integrate their faith into their lives. Classes include the study of the Bible and theology from a modern, progressive point of view, a look at the great world religions, involvement in outreach projects, contemplating issues of faith and social justice, and writing one’s own faith statement. Each confirmation student has an adult mentor from the congregation who travels the journey through the class with them.

Confirmation is a two year program for 9th and 10th grade students. Classes meet following worship for lunch and group work usually once a month. Times are posted once the classes start in the fall. If you are not on St. Luke’s youth list and would like to participate in the Confirmation program, please contact the church office at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
