Emily RockEmily Rock joined St. Luke in December of 2007 as choral accompanist and pianist for Sunday Services.  During her time with St. Luke, Emily has also helped lead the children's choir and occasionally assists the Folk Group.  She enjoys the diverse musical offerings unique to St. Luke and is comfortable playing a Bach Oratorio, a folk-group tune, a soulful spiritual, or improvising raindrop music during the children's time.  At St. Luke, any combination of music can be a regular part of worship!

Outside of St. Luke, Emily teaches piano and early childhood music.  Her piano students span all ages and ability levels and participate in local recitals and competitions.  Last year, Emily became a certified Music Together teacher and has really enjoyed developing her own program of parent-child classes in her hometown of Mound, MN.  Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, IA and a Master's degree in piano pedagogy from Bowling Green State in Ohio.  She is active in several teaching associations in the area.  This year will be a busy one for Emily as she plans for a September 12 wedding to longtime sweetheart Brian, followed by an exciting honeymoon to Australia and New Zealand!
