We focus on Indian education, traditional Indian spirituality and religious freedom, prison programs, tutoring, supporting grassroots Indian causes, political lobbying, and reservation housing. St Luke’s sweat lodge is a valuable resource for the Indian community. We work closely with Twin City Indians and the people of Pine Ridge & White Earth Indian Reservations on numerous projects.

Service Trips
Our service trips to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota allow us to meet tribal and community leaders, learn what’s going on, and work with local people. Our Crafters work with the Pine Ridge women and men sewing & creating crafts and useful household items. Our Carpenters spend an autumn week on the reservation, doing home rebuilding and construction projects. Our youth trips are well attended, and set up key contacts between St Luke teens and the youth of Pine Ridge.

Wind Energy on the Reservation
We assisted with development of a Wind Turbine plant now installed on a windy ridge at the Reservation and expect more such projects in the future.

Prison Work
We are instrumental in providing an Indian Chaplain/Spiritual Elder at the Hennepin County Adult Correctional facility who counsels Indian inmates and conducts sweat lodge and other traditional ceremonies on the prison grounds.

Next Meeting: meetings are scheduled periodically throughout the year
