So… you're at work, or at the Marsh, or in between classes, and you've been talking with someone about the environment, about global climate change.
And your friend says, "Yes… that's important all right. But, not as important as some other things."
"What do you mean?" you ask.
"Well, " they say, "first we've got to deal with the issues of war and peace, of economic justice, and of security," they answer.
How do we respond to that?
As followers of Jesus, are we pulled from our concern for the environment by a higher and more urgent call to make peace, to tend to the poor?
It can seem that way. But, it is a false choice, that ignores the connection between all of these issues.
